I love bread, so I had to make a video of my bread photography process. My camera and memory cards are all charged up and ready, so it was a snap to start my video.
We don’t have a lot of video to go on, but we do have bread photography in our home.
My bread photography process goes a little something like this: I take some bread from the local grocery store and then I photograph it in my kitchen. The bread goes from light to dark and back to light, and the process is repeated every couple hours. I then upload the video to Youtube and upload it to my channel as well.
I don’t know when I started using video cameras, but I do know it was when the first video cameras were introduced to the public in the 1990s. Videographer is a term coined by the late, great George Lucas, when he wanted to describe amateur video enthusiasts. He called them “stylists,” and I think that’s a really apt description. I think it’s because the amateur video enthusiast can make his own version of the classic Star Wars special effects.
I think its because I am that guy who feels his video camera is the only equipment that can capture the beauty of a beautiful field, or the majesty of a great sunset. There are just so many beautiful things out there that are just so hard to get the right frame of reference for.
The problem is that the most important things to a photographer don’t appear to be the same as a painter. The best photographers have that ability to capture details in their subject matter that no one else can reach. It’s not that they have a photographic eye, its that they use that skill to capture an entire scene for a very specific purpose. Think of a photographer as a scientist who creates a piece of artwork to highlight certain points in a specific way.
Bread photography is about capturing a specific moment in time to make something out of it. We can only ever get a certain number of these moments and so we focus on those moments. It is by looking at a bread image, that you will become more aware of the details that are in front of you. It’s the same thing as a painter, but for bread photography. It’s a snapshot in time of food that has been prepared, that has been prepared to be eaten.
Bread photography makes it easy to make a point about a certain food and to get that point across to the public. This can be done in a very simple way. But bread photography can go a bit deeper than a simple, one-size-fits-all message.
To get that point across is to take something that looks like bread, and use your camera to photograph it. It’s very easy to take pictures of a loaf of bread. You just have to get a picture of the bread. And you need to do it quickly and take several pictures. If you want the point to be made more than to eat a loaf of bread, take multiple pictures of it. That would go a long way to making the point.
At the same time, people will also take pictures of bread for the same reason. You see it on a loaf of bread, or a slice of bread, or a sandwich, or a pizza, or a hamburger. It’s a visual reminder of a meal that we could actually consume.
