The beautiful moon and its fiery rays are one of the most awe-inspiring sights to be able to see from the earth. We see them every day of the year, but the best part is that you don’t have to wait for the sun to rise, you can view it from anywhere in the day, and it will still be spectacular.
A super moon happens once in almost every decade, and you can experience a super moon and its rays from earth anytime from any part of the year. In fact, the best time to see one will be when your face is blocked by the sun. During the month of July I will be seeing one just about every day. The last time was in 2005, and I saw it with my face blocked by the sun for the first time, it was the most amazing night I’ve ever experienced.
I’m pretty excited for the second sign of autumn, when the sun will be setting in the west, and will be blocking the sun from my face. My favorite time to see a super moon is when the moon is at its most close to the horizon. I will be seeing it a bit later in the month of September, but I’m also going to see it earlier.
Im not sure why Earthlings are so enamored with the super moon, but I think it has something to do with the idea that it’s the only day in the month of September that it appears in the sky. For most of the rest of the month we all know that the moon won’t be up (or if we do get a look up it won’t be the brightest) and they still have parties and have an excuse to wear sunglasses and/or wear fancy clothes.
Its because in the month of August we get half the sun and half the moon, and we all know that the moon is the only one that doesnt appear in the sky until the end of the month. The reason we get half of the sun and half of the moon is because the moon is the only daytime side of the sun, and its the only time for it to be in the sky.
Now what about the moon? Well, its not just any old moon, we get the exact same thing as when we got the sun, only with half the sun and half of the moon. This is a lot of fun, but the main reason we stick with it is because we can’t be too serious about the moon. It’s a dark night and it’s always been the night that’s the only night that’s actually dark. We’re all the same age.
