The mucous cyst is a benign tumor that is located on the surface of your paranasal sinuses. It can be very painful for some individuals, but I’ve found that it is very treatable and is most commonly caused by a virus or bacteria, but it can also be caused by a benign tumor.

I had one once and had to have a biopsy to confirm that it was a benign tumor. I had it removed with a biopsy, and it was really painful for about six months. I was also told that the pain and discomfort would go away over a period of time, as it was actually a sinus infection and not a tumor.
