I can see the appeal of these poses. They’re quite intense and challenging without being too difficult or too hard. One advantage to this type of yoga is that it’s quite easy to find someone who’s willing to show you the way and get you into the posture. But it also means that you’ll be doing it yourself, so your own body and mind should be able to adapt to the poses.
I can only recommend East Eagle Warrior to people who are ready to try something new (like me). If you are not, you may want to give it a go and see if you like it. We are currently looking for a full time yoga instructor.
I think the biggest problem is that the East Eagle Warrior poses are too hard to do at the beginning. It can start to hurt your back a bit, and it may cause you to lose your breath. And it’s not even like it’s a bad posture. In fact, it takes a lot of your breath to get into it, so if you can do it at the beginning of class, you’ll be able to hold on to it for the duration of class.
As we’ve seen with so many yoga classes, a lot of the times the instructors just get frustrated. There are times when teachers get really frustrated, and then there are times when teachers just get frustrated because they’re not getting any results for their students. The East Eagle Warrior poses are one of the hardest poses we have to teach. And at the beginning of the class, it’s not easy to get your body into it.
You can’t wait to take your body out of the ocean. And that will make you look like a tiger.
