I’m a soccer photographer and I find the beautiful game so amazing to document. I’m a big fan of the sport and love to share my passion with the world. I’ve been able to get some great opportunities working with National and Premier Soccer in the U.S. and Canada. If you ever get a chance to speak to me, you’ll see why.
It’s great that soccer photography has gotten so mainstream, but I feel like we haven’t gotten to where we need to be on the soccer photography front yet. We need to improve our lighting, lighting standards, and lighting techniques, and really make the game more unique and exciting.
I think we have a long way to go. There are more than 1,000 soccer photographers around the world, and they all have their own styles. We need to see each others’ work, take a peek at each others’ websites, look at each other’s work, and even talk with each other about how we can improve.
I think we need to give our soccer photographers more support and encouragement. We need to go over our camera settings to make them more natural and less artificial. It’s nice to see that in the soccer photography community, we have a number of photographers who are willing to share their work with the rest of us.
